IMPORTANT NOTE FOR TRAVELLERS YOUNGER THAN 15 YEARS OF AGE
For some insane reason, most airlines consider unaccompanied minors younger than 15 a great threat to their business. I think it is likely due to all the wild drinking, smoking, partying, and other Minors Gone Wild stuff that kids that age do. So BEFORE you buy a plane ticket regarding your own dangerously underage travelling musician kid, PLEASE check with your chosen airline and airport about their policies. Thanks!

NYSMF offers transportation to and from Albany International Airport at a cost of $100 one way. (In comparison, taxi service costs appx $200 - each way!) If you are coming in from a different airport, please contact us well in advance to see if we can arrange a pickup.

Our driver will meet students inside the terminal and ensure that they are safely escorted to the Festival in Oneonta, about an hour's drive away.

For students arriving at airports in the New York City area (JFK Kennedy Airport, LGA LaGuardia Airport, Newark International Airport, etc.), you will need to arrange additional transportation to get to NYSMF. Options include:

• Flight to Albany International Airport. You may purchase one-way or round-trip shuttle service to NYSMF from there, using the links above.
• Bus to Oneonta. This will require the following additional steps, but is still the recommended way to travel to NYSMF from a New York area airport:
  • Shuttle bus to New York City's Port Authority Bus Terminal (several local bus companies exist, such as Coach USA)
  • Adirondack Trailways Bus from Port Authority to Oneonta, NY
  • Call when you arrive, and NYSMF will provide complimentary pickup from the Oneonta bus terminal
