Beverly Shin made her solo debut with the Houston Symphony at age 17 and has since appeared with numerous orchestras throughout the United States.  

 As an active chamber musician, she has performed at Bargemusic, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, The Cape Cod Chamber Music Festival, the Banff Centre for the Arts, Yellow Barn, as well as at festivals in Brazil, Taiwan, and Newfoundland.

She has collaborated with such artists as Anton Kuerti and the late Ruth Laredo, as well as members of the Vermeer, Borromeo, Chicago, Kronos, Avalon, and Lark Quartets.

She is currently a member of the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia and the IRIS Orchestra in Memphis, TN, and is a frequent guest performer with the River Oaks Chamber Orchestra in Houston, TX.  An avid proponent of music by living composers, she has also performed frequently with Boston Musica Viva, the Harvard Group for New Music, Boston's Callithumpian Consort, and the Penn Composers' Guild.

She is currently holds adjunct faculty positions at both the University of Pennsylvania and Temple University.  She has also been Assistant Professor of Violin at the University of Memphis and Donald Weilerstein's teaching assistant at the Cleveland Institute of Music.  In addition, she is a passionate advocate of bringing classical music into communities with limited access. 

As one of the first musicians to receive an Albert Schweitzer Fellowship, she created interactive music programs in under-served elementary schools in Boston.  In addition, Ms. Shin has been a Teaching Artist for the Philadelphia Orchestra and the Director of Community Outreach for the IRIS Orchestra. 

Ms. Shin holds a Doctor of Musical Arts from the New England Conservatory, as well as Master's Degrees in both Violin Performance and Suzuki Pedagogy from the Cleveland Institute of Music.
