Pianist, composer/arranger, and educator Mike Holober is Artistic Director/Conductor of the Westchester Jazz Orchestra and Composer-In-Residence with The Gotham Wind Symphony. Mike has just been appointed as associate guest conductor of the HR Big Band (Frankfurt, Germany).

He has performed with/had his works performed and recorded by the HR Big Band in Frankfurt, The WDR Big Band in Cologne, The Stockholm Jazz Orchestra, The Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, The Gotham Wind Symphony, Westchester Jazz Orchestra, The Airmen of Note, The Tim Ries Rolling Stones Project, John Patitucci, The Prism, American, and NY Saxophone Quartets, and many others.

As a sideman he has performed on over fifty recordings, and he has released four acclaimed recordings as leader. An associate professor at The City College of NY, Mike is a MacDowell Fellow, Ucross Foundation Fellow and Yaddo Guest.

Since 2007 he has been associate director of the BMI Jazz Composer’s Workshop, (founded by the legendary jazz composers Bob Brookmeyer and Manny Albam), where he co-teaches with Musical Director Jim McNeely. (mikeholober.com).
