Rachael Garcia (BM '01, MM '03), has performed over 35 world premieres since graduating from The Curtis Institute of Music.

Works by Jennifer Higdon, Michael Udow, Gloria Justen, Eli Marshall, Richard Belcastro, Delvyn Case, Zhou Tian, Troy Herion & many others have fuled a great passion for the performance of new works - she's currently working on grants for six 2009 commissions from Chamber Music Now!, Latin Fiesta and Roberto Sierra.

As a student, Rachael performed the roles of Susanna, Norina, Miss Jessel, Monica, Thérèse, Erisbe, Mélisande, Peasblossom, The Foreign Woman, Soeur Mathilde and others.

Rachael also studied Italian and the History of Science in Italian Literature at Yale University for three years, studied Spanish and Russian at UPENN; and was a fellow at Yale's Norfolk Summer Chamber Music Festival, the Steans Institute at Ravinia, and Chautauqua Music School.

For fun, she plays ukulele and rhythm guitar in the rock band Chicks That Blow, cycles, and is a professional Swedish Massage, Shiatsu & CranioSacral therapist.
