Dan Forbes > director of resident life
Dan Forbes was born and raised in Oneonta, New York. “I was,” he says, “and have been a runner since middleschool along with trying to play basketball and ride horses in the summers.”
“I went to college at SUNY Cortland where I received my BS in Physical Education and my MS in Education in Outdoor and Leisure Pursuits.”
“Since then, I have been a PE teacher for 12 years in a few school districts in upstate NY and have landed back home for the past 4 years. In those years, I have also had the distinct privilege of being part of NYSMF’s prestigious legacy here in Oneonta for what I believe to be my ninth year.
“Anything outdoors is fine with me, most notably running (but for some reason I keep getting slower every year… strange), ice/rock climbing, backpacking, skiing, and my new interest in triathlons. I have a wonderful family including a beautiful and supportive wife, and 3 crazy, but lovely children.”
