Daniel Spencer, a native upstate New Yorker, has lived and worked in the Oneonta area for many years as a student, administrator, and music educator.
Upon graduation from Hartwick College with a BS in music education in 1997, he was the Acdemic intern in the Hartwick College Music Department in a one year position as as well as the conductor of the women’s choir.
This internship led to a summer position with the college as the Assistant to the Director of the Hartwick Summer Music Festival, a position that he held until 2005, when he joined the administration of the New York Summer Music Festival as the Director of Operations under the direction of Ms. Jungeun Kim.
Daniel Spencer is currently a vocal music teacher in the Sidney Central School District in Sidney, NY, where he has taught choir, beginning guitar, beginning piano, music history, and theory since 1999. During his tenure in the Sidney School District, he earned his MA in curriculum and instruction from the University of Phoenix.
Mr. Spencer is an avid theatre performer, playing lead roles in Crazy for You, Big the Musical, and The Housekeeper as well as supporting roles in 9 to 5, Arsenic and old Lace, the night of January 16th and Kiss me Kate. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf, traveling, and visiting family and friends.
