Robert Phillips > Bassoon
Robert Phillips has quickly established himself as one of the most successful bassoon performers and pedagogues of his generation.
Robert has held positions as principal bassoon with the South Florida Symphony Orchestra, Anderson Symphony Orchestra, and Danville (IL) Symphony Orchestra, as well as second bassoon with Sinfonia da Camera. He has also performed with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic and Lafayette Symphony Orchestra.
Robert was recently a guest performer at the 2012 International Double Reed Society conference, and was also featured in an Emmy-award winning episode of “Across Indiana” as a member of the Dynamic Agenda Bassoon Quartet.
As a pedagogue, Robert has served as an Adjunct Instructor at Butler University and as Associate Instructor at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. He has given clinics and masterclasses throughout the Midwest and Texas.
Robert currently teaches a large and successful private studio out of Austin, Texas. His major teachers include Douglas Spaniol, William Ludwig, Marc Goldberg, and Kristen Wolfe Jensen.
